A table wide and long filled with heads,
more with glee, less with gloom,
regardless of all occurrences, cheering a toast nodding a sige,
unknowingly agreeing to the master craft of ungodly affairs,
they all writ their destinies in black,
taking oath to Belial,
clad in crisp white,
all the godly and pious,
concurring the wide spread of darkness in a world where there is little light.

You and I are merely waiting and watching,
viewing in anticipation for this show of slay to cease,
If not complete, maybe a little halt
Just us watching!

  1. The irony here is haunting. You’ve perfectly captured that heavy feeling of watching a tragedy unfold in slow motion while being unable to do anything but witness it. So chilling!

    1. The helplessness of the common man is beautifully depicted. We can just sit there and watch and maybe even wait till we are just a number among so many.
