I had a glass of belief, half filled
Diluted with faith
Someone added crushed ice of accuse
It changed its color
The crystal of the ice swell it with agony
A tablespoon of added loathe turned it purple
Like a newly bleeding wound
Shrieking in my soul
Piercing it hard with sharp tool
The froth of murkiness appeared, as some churned it with prejudice
Some added more and more sugary syrup of lies and false hopes
Caused it bitter and made me cold

Now I am sitting with this glass of life!
People fill it with abhor and rejection
Each shaking it with their fears and vulnerabilities
Toss it with in usability
Make it an impotent drug!

  1. A powerful and thought provoking piece. The potion metaphor beautifully captures how life experiences and people’s actions shape our emotions. Well written.

  2. Speechless…so impressive..the words chosen, itself are so briefly described the subject, the pain and bitterness of life..moreover, we have to drink these poisonous ,bitter and painful sips until our final hour..sigh…big applause 👏 as usual 🤲🙌🫶
