In the haul of the darkness,
She glanced at the mirror across,
A blurry vision,
unfamiliar sight,
The reflection has not taken much change in time,
Tinted lips and cheekbones,
All glimmering!
A fancy fabricated smile lurked darkened the kohl laden eyes,
She smiled again,
The reflection echoed this time,
No further layers could brighten you more!
She hastened and disconnected,
The analogy between this soul and image.
Such a dichotomy of one soul,
Was it a lost identity or sold?

  1. Amazing, this really got to me. The way you describe her looking in the mirror but not recognizing herself felt so real. That “fancy smile” hiding tired, dark eyes — I could picture it immediately.

And that last line, “No further layers could brighten,” says it all. It’s like no makeup or fake happiness can cover what’s actually going on inside.

    Rahila well expressed♥️

  2. What a portray of a restless, depressive ,lonely soul, which may be many of us from inside..finding ourselves, finding real joy in us yet couldn’t…a devoted soul giving happiness to all except her self watching her emptiness within…so beautifully expressed..

  3. You’ve so beautifully portrayed , a devoted, helpful, always giving ,a joy spreader yet, deprived, lonely and emotionally emptied soul within..with which, one can relate.. you nailed it in the end ,really, no mask can hide your inner miserableness…
Love it..keep writing and sending 🤲🙌🫶

  4. What a powerful piece. “Lost identity or sold” the ending especially leaves so much to reflect on.
